£10,000 was made available for this venture from the Trustees of the late Colonel J.C. Barlow, M.V.O. of Bury. It was opened September 14th 1935, by S.H. Renshaw OBE, to accomodate 50 of the younger boys. It's total cost was £9,773. Notes:
Norman remembers very clearly arriving at Barlow Home as a small boy in the early 1940s.
